Since Nepal Mountaineering Association issued permits for Chekijo only from 2002, very few attempts to its summits have been made. As a moderately difficult climb, the Chekijo peak requires its climbers to have some technical knowledge in mountain climbing

Mt Chekijo climbing peak located in the Gaurishankar mountain region in the district of Dolkaha in Nepal. The climbing permit was first issued in 2002 and since then Mt Chekijo has had less than 100 attempts made on its summit. The recognised route is Charikot-Simigaon-Beding-BC. The summit of the Chekijo peak offers panoramic views of the Langtang, Jugal, Ganesha, Shisha Pangma, Gaurishanker and the Dorje Lakpa peaks. Other smaller peaks are also visible once we make it to the summit.

Interestingly, the location of the nearby peak of Gaurishankar (7,134 m) sets the meridan for Nepal Standard Time, which is 5 hours and 45 minutes ahead of GMT. The climbing permits were first issued for Mt Chekijo in 2002 and from 2006 to 2010 it had seen only eight small-sized groups attempting its summit.

As a moderately difficult climb, the Chekijo peak requires its climbers to have some technical knowledge in mountain climbing.
