The Jomsom - Muktinath Trek is an easy trek requiring 4-6 hours of walk everyday and gaining the maximum altitude of 3,710m/12,170ft at Muktinath. It can be easily undertaken by anyone possessing good health and a stamina for walking in mountain terrain. Previous hiking experience in moderate altitude is always helpful but is not a prerequisite to join the trip. Though keeping yourself in good shape always helps while trekking in the Himalayas and it is advisable that you undertake a regular fitness exercise for at least 2-3 months prior to actually joining this trip.  Activities like walking, jogging, swimming are always good ways in improving one’s physical condition and thus keeping in shape to cope with the demand of trekking.  In addition to physical fitness, you must also have positive attitude and a strong determination to complete the trip. People with pre-existing medical condition and concerned with their ability for this trip should consult their physician for any special precautions that might be helpful in preventing any forms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) and completing the trip successfully.
