The Saribung Trek and Expedition is a strenuous trek gaining the maximum altitude of 6328m and is suitable for any passionate hikers with the ability to walk at least 6-8 hours a day with a light back pack.  High altitude hikes are always physically demanding and previous hiking experience to altitude above 5000m is essential. The Saribung trek is an expedition style adventure involving either extreme trekking and or basic mountaineering with remote and poorly defined trails and also involves a number of demanding high passes crossing. Prior to joining this trip it is advisable that you undergo an extensive fitness session. A minimum of 1 hour of aerobic exercise per session, four to five times a week is recommended.  Running and cycling in hilly areas is particularly beneficial as are multi day walks on the weekends.

People with pre-existing medical condition and concerned with their ability for such high altitude walks should consult their physician for any special precautions that might be helpful in preventing any forms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).
